Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life, by Marshall R. Rosenberg, Ph.D.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. - George Bernard Shaw

I'm looking forward to reading the above book over the summer...and this quote by Shaw is one of my favorites!

Just for fun!

I've seen this kind of map for other countries and I figured I'd post this for a laugh, a chuckle, a chortle, a guffaw, a snort.....let's see how many synonyms for exhibiting humor we can post.

California Farmers' Markets

I love seeing all the yummy fruits and vegetables at our renowned outdoor markets. Los Angeles has such a plethora of produce to tempt the palette. I enjoy wandering around the different stands buying clothes at the Farmer's Market in Silverlake, dark green veggies and plump red peppers at the one in Hollywood, and the one in Santa Monica is truly quite extraordinary.

Hollywood Fringe Festival and the Levantine Cultural Center

I love verbal and artistic expression  - dance, music, painting, book groups, talks, interviews, etc. I will be the publicity intern for the HFF starting June 3, and I will most likely be taking on program responsibilities as an intern at the LCC for the summer. Time for a good laugh, a good cry, a good shock, a GREAT out-of-the-box summer! It started with a concert of amazing Middle Eastern music and ended with Fast and the Furious 6. What a ride! :)

What's Next?

This morning I attended an amazing breakfast in Hermosa Beach in preparation for the Partnership Course starting June 22. I look forward to participating with leader Angela A. Now it's on to studying and completing projects due in the next couple of weeks. I will end the day with a two-and-a-half-hour workout. (And you don't even want to know yesterday's schedule). Pushing myself to participate in
and accomplish amazing projects one right after the other is so exciting!

Pen Collections

Porsche, Cartier and Montblanc are among my favorites. Other women spend money on shoes, jewelry, and clothes. While I enjoy a new blouse or a stunning, flowing dress, my one true love is the magnificent rollerball, with its smooth, ability to glide across a piece of paper with the grace of an ice skater. The writer must hold the instrument with care, caution, and precision, and know the words will come, flowing across the snowy white paper.

Papa Cristo's restaurant

I went to a dinner last night at an amazing Greek restaurant. Twenty-one people celebrated my friend Jon's graduation from USC. He created the decorations himself and paid for an excellent buffet dinner of tapas, salad, lemon chicken, lamb chops, sauces, pita bread, baguette, red and white wine, lemon and tomato flavored potatoes, olives, feta cheese, and tomato and onion-flavored green beans. There was some citrus-flavored sparking water and sodas as well. Jon bought everything he needed from the 99 Cent Store - except the flowers which he bought at the Flower Mart - and every detail was gorgeous. The tables exploded with yellows, blues, reds, and greens. Congratulations, Jon!

Human Growth and Development

I'm excited to be taking the Partnership Course starting June 22. It is six weekends over the course of nine months. Participants will include people from all over the world. Bring it!

Passionate About Fitness

I love the number of gyms, yoga studios, and workout facilities in Los Angeles. For every gym there's a workout to go with it. I love the discipline, the commitment, the hours, all the information regarding health and fitness, the sweat, the endorphins, and The Zone.
